Protocols in Gene and Cell Therapy

Hildegard Büning, PhD
Hannover Medical School

Gene and cell therapy is yielding impressive results improving clinical outcome for patients in a range of different areas. Likewise, the field is experiencing remarkable advances in vector technology, production/purification and QM, delivery technologies, cell preparation, and risk assessment to name a few examples.

Since usage of state-of-the-art methodologies as well as availability of standard operating procedures are critical parameters for moving the field of gene and cell therapy forward, Human Gene Therapy Methods aims to contribute to this task by publishing a special issue.

The special issue on “Protocols in Gene and Cell Therapy” is aimed to provide a collection of protocols in the following general categories:

  • Production and purification protocols for vectors (both viral and synthetic)
  • iPSC technology and transdifferentiation
  • Quality control and quantification
  • Risk assessment including off-target activity, genotoxicity, immunotoxicity
  • GMP cell manufacturing, e.g. for CAR T cells
  • Design of proteins with optimized function (cytokines, receptors, designer nucleases) and/or optimized application strategies
  • Delivery technologies (in vivo, ex vivo, in situ, organotypic cultures)

Benefits of publishing:

  • Rapid peer review
  • Instant Online publication within 72 hours of acceptance
  • Open Access options available
  • Accessible in more than 170 countries
  • Competitive author benefits program

We look forward to your submission and participation in the journal!
