Virtual Reality Therapy

*Please indicate in the Cover Letter that your paper is for the Virtual Reality Therapy Focus Issue

We have seen tremendous advances in Virtual Reality over the past 30 years. One of the areas which has survived two and possibly three hype cycles is the use of VR in healthcare. Although entertainment claims to be the largest market, we believe the healthcare space will clearly be the long-term and dominant use of VR technologies. We are seeking in-depth and insightful papers that clearly demonstrate how VR is changing healthcare. Special attention to outcomes analysis and economic impact is encouraged. Additionally, authors are asked to provide their views of the future and how the technology will continue to evolve and become increasingly more vital to the healthcare space.

Only studies with larger sample sizes will be considered for this Special Issue.

We are seeking high-quality review articles and original articles on the following topics related to virtual reality therapy research:

  • Treatment of Anxiety and Depression
  • Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
  • Eating and Metabolic Disorders
  • Pain Management
  • Other Major Psychiatric Disorders

We look forward to receiving your submissions!
