Noel Bairey Merz, MD, Director & Endowed Chair, Women's Heart Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Professor of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles will give the Leaders in Women’s Health Research Keynote presentation on “Women and Heart Disease: Advances in Diagnosis & Management.”
Larry Norton, MD, Deputy Physician-in-Chief for Breast Cancer Programs, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, will make a luncheon presentation on “New Concepts in Breast Cancer Biology and Treatment.”
Women’s Health 2010: The 18th Annual Congress is sponsored by the VCU Institute for Women’s Health and Journal of Women’s Health, in collaboration with National Cancer Institute and the American Medical Association. This year’s Congress also marks the 95th Anniversary meeting of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA), an organization devoted to the advancement of women in medicine and the improvement of women's health. The Institute for Professional Education is a co-sponsor of the Congress. Congress Chair Wendy S. Klein, MD, Senior Deputy Director Emeritus of the VCU Institute for Women's Health, a National Center of Excellence, Richmond, VA, and Deputy Editor of Journal of Women’s Health, Co-Chair Susan G. Kornstein, MD, Executive Director of the VCU Institute for Women's Health and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Women’s Health, and AMWA Co-Chairs Laurel A.
