G. Roger Schoenhals

G. Roger Schoenhals is the Founder and Editor of Planned Giving Today®. Launched in September 1990, the publication has several thousand loyal readers in North America and is considered by many to be the premier publication in the gift-planning field.

Roger is also Editor of Planned Giving Mentor™ a publication he founded in 2003. A monthly tutorial newsletter for newcomers to planned giving, it is written by a national board of consultants.

Roger has served as Editorial Director of a Midwest publishing house and has conducted writing clinics throughout the United States. He has published more than 2,000 articles in scores of periodicals. He has written or edited 40 books and three CDs, many of these for planned giving officers. Besides writing on planned giving subjects, Roger writes a regular inspirational column for a world-wide Internet audience.

He is the former director of Seattle Pacific Foundation and chief planned giving officer for Seattle Pacific University. He is a past president of the Washington Planned Giving Council and has served on the governing boards of the National Committee on Planned Giving and various organizations, including educational and financial institutions.

Roger has graduate degrees in theology and psychology from Asbury Theological Seminary and Central Washington University. He is a frequent speaker at regional and national gatherings of gift planners throughout North America.
