MEMBER - Tom Cullinan

Tom Cullinan Charitable Giving Counsel

Tom Cullinan is a gift planning specialist and consultant working with exempt organizations and the individuals who give to them. Since 1992 his clients have included regional and national charities in higher education, healthcare, social services, and community foundations.

Tom has instructed charity staff and board members as director of the College of William & Mary National Planned Giving Institute, and through Internet webcasts and in-person presentations he encourages effective charitable giving among practitioners and prospective donors. He is a presenter for the 2003 and 2004 National Conferences on Planned Giving, and spoke on the topic of ethics at a 2004 NCPG Virtual Seminar.

Tom earned degrees in business and law from the University of Nebraska and holds certificates from the National Planned Giving Institute and Philanthropy Tax Institute. He had prior SEC licenses (Series 7 and 53) and a life insurance license. He is affiliated with the law firm of Young and Associates in Houston.

He is a member of the National Committee on Planned Giving, Planned Giving Council of Nebraska, Virginia Gift Planning Council, and Association of Fundraising Professionals. He also serves on the National Board of Consultants for Planned Giving Mentor and was a member of the editorial review panel for the Journal of Gift Planning for the first three years it was published.
